More than an extended consultation, this is a dedicated physician-led assessment designed for patients seeking diagnostic depth, personal guidance and a thoughtful long-term strategy.

Our team will personally assist you in arranging a suitable consultation time.

For patients seeking more than a standard consultation, the Vitalis Private Hair Consultation offers specialist guidance, diagnostic depth and reserved physician time in a discreet setting.

Why some patients choose a private consultation

Some concerns deserve more time, more nuance and a deeper medical conversation.

The Vitalis Private Consultation was created for patients seeking a more personal level of care — whether because their concerns are complex, prior treatments have disappointed, or they simply value discreet physician-led guidance.

This consultation may be particularly suited for:

  • Patients with complex or longstanding hair loss concerns
  • Those seeking a second expert opinion
  • International or expat patients
  • Patients preferring private, reserved physician access
  • Individuals seeking a strategic treatment roadmap before committing

Patients who travel from abroad may also benefit from a consultation that combines diagnosis and treatment planning in a single visit.

What makes this consultation different

More than an extended appointment, this consultation is designed as a dedicated specialist assessment.

Reserved physician time

Protected time for in-depth discussion, analysis and questions — without the pressure of a routine consultation flow.

Diagnostic depth

Includes advanced trichoscopic evaluation and physician interpretation, aimed at understanding not only what is happening, but why.

Personalised strategy roadmap

Where appropriate, a structured medical plan is discussed, tailored to biology, goals and practical realities.

Private consultations are organised with particular attention to the quality of the consultation environment itself.

Many patients value the opportunity to discuss complex hair loss concerns without time pressure, rushed decision-making or the atmosphere of larger clinic settings.

The Vitalis Consultation Approach

Our consultation follows a structured three-step approach:

1 — Analysis

Medical history, scalp and hair evaluation, and advanced trichoscopic assessment.

2 — Interpretation

Physician-led diagnostic reasoning to understand contributing factors and possible treatment directions.

3 — Personal strategy roadmap

A personalised treatment strategy, prioritised and discussed step by step.

The goal is not simply to recommend treatments, but to provide clarity and direction.

More than a traditional Hair Consultation

This consultation was created from a simple observation: many patients today feel overwhelmed by fast solutions, conflicting advice, and standardized treatment approaches.

Over the years, we developed a different philosophy — one built on time, biological understanding, and long-term guidance.

At Vitalis Kliniek we do not begin with protocols alone, but with the biological context of the patient: hormonal influences, inflammation, stress, aging, lifestyle, and the individual regenerative capacity of the hair follicle.

For many patients, this consultation is not simply an intake.
It is often the first moment of clarity, structure, and strategic direction.

About Dr. Barry Dekeyser

The consultation is led by Dr. Barry Dekeyser, physician specialised in hair loss and regenerative approaches.

With more than 25 years of medical experience, international speaking faculty roles and longstanding focus on complex hair restoration, his approach combines diagnostic rigour with a calm, personal style of care.

Patients often seek this consultation not simply for treatment options, but for specialist judgment.

Internationally recognised expertise

The medical approach at Vitalis has been presented internationally at congresses including IMCAS and AMWC and has received recognition within regenerative hair medicine.

For some patients, this consultation serves as an entry point to that same level of specialist thinking in a private setting.

Why patients place their trust in this approach

Patients often seek this consultation not because they want “more treatment options,” but because they value thoughtful medical guidance.

  • International Patients
  • Second Opinions
  • Complex Cases
  • 25+ Years Medical Experience

“ What I appreciated most was not being rushed into decisions, but having the time to truly understand my options ”

— Belgian patient

“ After seeing several people, this was the first time I felt the complexity of my case was really understood.”

— Second-opinion patient

From diagnosis to strategy

Once the diagnosis has been clarified, possible management strategies can be discussed.

These may include, where appropriate:

  • Regenerative approaches
  • Personalised strategies
  • Supportive options
  • Long-term  planning

The goal of the consultation is to provide a clear understanding of the available options, allowing patients to make informed decisions.

Option for same-day treatment initiation

Some patients — particularly those travelling from abroad or combining multiple commitments — value the possibility of a more efficient, consolidated visit.

Where medically appropriate, additional time can be reserved to allow a first treatment step on the same day as the consultation.

This is never assumed in advance and only considered after the diagnostic evaluation, if it is appropriate and desired.

Because reserved time is required, this option can be discussed when requesting the consultation.

Designed with international patients in mind

Patients from Belgium and abroad regularly seek consultation at Vitalis for specialist evaluation of hair loss concerns.

For international patients, the Private Consultation allows time for careful assessment and thoughtful discussion of possible treatment directions during a single visit.

Consultations take place in Tessenderlo, Belgium, and can be conducted in Dutch or English.

Private consultation appointments are intentionally limited

To preserve the depth and personal nature of these consultations, a limited number of private consultation appointments is offered each month.

Consultation fee

€320
The consultation fee includes a private physician assessment, advanced trichoscopic evaluation and strategic treatment discussion.

FAQ – Private Hair Loss Consultations

  • What happens during the private hair consultation?

During the consultation the doctor reviews your medical history and discusses your hair concerns in detail. A basic trichoscopic examination of the scalp is routinely performed using digital imaging to evaluate hair density and follicular patterns.

This examination is painless and only takes a few minutes.

  • What will I know after the consultation?

At the end of the consultation you will have a clearer understanding of:

    • what may be causing your hair loss
    • whether additional investigations may be useful
    •  which treatment options may be appropriate
    • the advantages and limitations of these treatments
    • which steps may help stabilise or improve your hair condition
  • What is a private consultation?

A private consultation can be scheduled outside the regular consultation hours, allowing greater flexibility and a quieter setting at a time that may better suit your schedule.

These consultations also allow more time for a detailed discussion of your medical history and hair concerns.

Consultations are performed by Doctor Barry Dekeyser together with senior nurse Marijke Wellens.

  • How long does the consultation take?

A private consultation usually lasts approximately 45 minutes.

This allows sufficient time to review the medical history, perform the scalp examination and discuss possible diagnostic findings and treatment options.

  • Can treatment be performed during the same visit?

If desired, patients may choose to reserve time for a possible first treatment session immediately after the consultation.

If treatment is considered appropriate after the diagnostic evaluation, the first session can be performed during the same visit.

Because additional time must be reserved for this purpose, this option should be requested when scheduling the consultation.

  • Is this option useful for international patients?

Yes. Patients travelling from abroad sometimes prefer to combine consultation and treatment in the same visit.

When scheduling the consultation, additional time can be reserved if this option is desired.

  • What is the fee for the first consultation?

The fee for the first consultation is €320.

This consultation includes the medical evaluation and basic trichoscopic examination of the scalp.

  • How can I request a private consultation?

To request a private consultation, you can contact the clinic by phone, email or send a message to the consultation number.
